About Us

Mill Creek Kennels, owned and operated by Mike and Shirley Simmons, is a retriever/gun dog training facility that also offers pet boarding and training services to canine owners of all kinds. Its roots lie in the specialization of training and boarding gun dog and competition AKC/UKC hunt test retrievers. However, over the last year, Mill Creek Kennels has opened their doors to the general pet owner for boarding and basic obedience training.

It has proven to be very beneficial to dogs of all breeds to associate and socialize with some of the most gentle, nationally recognized labradors in the region. 

We are centrally located in Cedar Grove Tennessee, in the Terry Farming Community eighteen miles northeast of Jackson, convenient to Milan, Medina, Huntingdon, Lexington, McKenzie, Paris, and Martin.

Mill Creek Kennels is a member of the national professional boarding organization Pet Care Services, formerly known as the American Boarding Kennel Association (A.B.K.A.). Mike, who is completing his certification in Canine Training and Behavior Specialist, and his wife Shirley, who is completing her certification as a Pet Care Technician, utilize their knowledge to enhance the training and special care of your retriever and pet. Our commitment to your pet’s health, safety, and comfort is the utmost priority. Whether a retriever in advanced training or a boarded pet on vacation, owners can relax knowing their best friend is in the best possible care.
